Hailed as a “Rising Star in the Guitar World” (Corvallis Arts Review), Jaxon Williams is an acclaimed classical guitarist and pedagogue.  He has won prizes in various international competitions, including the OSAA Classical Guitar Competition, Sierra Nevada International Classical Guitar Competition, San Francisco Classical Guitar Competition, Pacific Guitar Competition, and Beverly Hills National Auditions.  Jaxon is praised as “a player of rare power and grace” (William Kanengiser, GRAMMY award winning LAGQ), having “a refined musicianship, solid technique, and an engaging stage presence” (Frank Koonce, guitar scholar and publisher), and is a sought after performer of the classical guitar. He is also a former Fulbright scholar, having studied in Spain, where he mastered the Spanish guitar repertoire and learned Flamenco guitar with maestros Paco Cortés and Adam del Monte.

Currently based in Los Angeles, CA, Jaxon serves as California Regional Director for the non-profit Lead Guitar (www.leadguitar.org), where he implements classical guitar  programs in low-income schools, trains new teachers, and supervises existing programs. An innovator at heart, Jaxon is also working with Lead Guitar to pilot and develop an online learning program to be able to reach rural schools with less access to top quality guitar instruction.

In addition to his work as a solo artist, Jaxon collaborates frequently with ensembles.  He is one half of the duo Jâca (www.jacamusic.com) with clarinetist Wesley Ferreira. The duo has been called “WAY too much fun for Classical music” (Cris Inguanti, former assistant principal clarinetist, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra) and actively performs on the concert stage worldwide and also gives masterclasses and lectures at Universities around the USA. Jaxon has also performed extensively with soprano and voice educator Laurel Irene (www.laurelirenesings.com), and together they work to take new classical music to the concert stage.

“Excellent balance between technical skills and playing the repertoire. Also appreciate the constant encouragement!”

Derek K.- Nevada

“Jaxon is the most motivating as well as competent and friendly guitar teacher my 16-year-old son has ever had, and he has had two previous guitars teachers that were very good.
As a professional in the music industry in Hollywood for a very long time, I can assure you that Jaxon is extremely versatile and knowledgeable in all styles of guitar performance, be it classical, electric rock or blues, and I"m sure many more acoustic guitar styles that I have not heard him demonstrate.
Take it from a music professional......you can't go wrong in having Jaxon teach you or anyone in your family.”

“Jaxon is great! Always incredibly patient with my flamenco development. He also gives plenty of material for you to work on at home, so you’re never not sure what you have to work on. Overall, if you want to improve quickly and learn the right way, you can’t go wrong with Jaxon.”

Brandon L. - Los Angeles

“Jaxon tailored the program to my specific needs. I recommend him!”

Lorraine R. - Florida

“Jaxon is a great teacher who adapt to the goal of the student while having a great structure during his lesson. The lesson is very productive and enjoyable!”

Nicolas D. - Colorado

“Jaxon called me a week before my lesson and asked what I wanted out of it. He then tailored his lessons for my specifically, giving me the music theory that I needed for my goal while also focusing on the guitar aspect of it, giving me valuable, actionable feedback that I've used. In only two lessons I feel far more comfortable at the fret board than I used to (I came in after several years of self teaching)”

Jaxon is an amazing teacher. I love his attention to the details of doing things correctly. His own playing is so very musical and as a teacher he emphasizes expression as much as technique. He's fun to work with and always supportive. After each lesson he sends an email that organizes my practice sessions for the upcoming week - what to practice and what to pay attention to while playing, everything we discussed in the lesson. It makes me eager to practice because I'm never unclear about how to approach it. I struck gold with Jaxon as my teacher.
