As an Educator

Hello, I'm Jaxon

I’ve dedicated my career to helping guitarists make steady, meaningful progress. My teaching combines the perspective of a concert performer with practical systems that help students understand what to practice, how to practice, and how to keep moving forward with confidence.

Through private lessons, YouTube, Practice Pilot, and live programs like Play It Through, I help players replace scattered learning with structure, feedback, and clear musical goals. Whether someone is picking up the guitar for the first time or refining advanced skills, my goal is to help them enjoy the process and become the kind of musician they want to be.

What Students Are Saying

“Jaxon called me a week before my lesson and asked what I wanted out of it. He then tailored his lessons for my specifically, giving me the music theory that I needed for my goal while also focusing on the guitar aspect of it, giving me valuable, actionable feedback that I’ve used. In only two lessons I feel far more comfortable at the fret board than I used to (I came in after several years of self teaching)”

Andrew, USA

Private Student

“Jaxon is an amazing teacher. I love his attention to the details of doing things correctly. His own playing is so very musical and as a teacher he emphasizes expression as much as technique. He’s fun to work with and always supportive. After each lesson he sends an email that organizes my practice sessions for the upcoming week - what to practice and what to pay attention to while playing, everything we discussed in the lesson. It makes me eager to practice because I’m never unclear about how to approach it. I struck gold with Jaxon as my teacher.”

April Martin, New York

Private Student

“Very great teacher! Extremely knowledgable on traditional and nouveau flamenco techniques. Appears very committed to the student and willing to spend time out of the sessions to make instructional videos on the material for the student to practice with. Very friendly as well!”

Phillip Silva, USA

Private Student

“I am extremely happy with my first five lessons. Jaxon has tailored the instruction well to my short-term goals: building a strong theoretical foundation, understanding compositional approaches and methodologies, and preparing to create my own compositions and arrangements. Each lesson includes a detailed analysis of a piece, followed by a composition or arrangement exercise that reinforces its main techniques and is reviewed at the next lesson. The exchange of ideas and practical exercises have helped me learn something fun and interesting every time. I highly recommend Jaxon as a music theory instructor.”

David, California

Private Student

“It goes without saying that Jaxon is an outstanding teacher - I think that anyone who studies with him would agree. Both Jaxon’s verbal instruction and his playing demonstrations are clear and well articulated. His ability to select interesting repertoire seems limitless, for even an advanced student such as myself. He will guide you with techniques and tips while also keeping in consideration your own interests and goals.”

Cameron Robello, Tempe AZ

Private Student

“Initially, I received the quintessential guitar lessons, complete with classical guitar exercises. I then developed an affinity for classical guitar, but I couldn’t journey further into the style because my training was limited. I can happily say that I have not only been able to overcome my plateau but also found the teacher who can shape me into the guitarist I aspire to be. I’m being taught via video chat but the lessons are nothing short of insightful. Your dedication as a student with Jaxon will take you far. Take the first lesson and you’ll see!”

Kylie, Arizona

Private Student

“What I’ve seen from Jaxon after a few lessons is that he is very attentive to detail and takes his craft seriously. He focuses on fundamentals and watches your technique carefully and makes sure to correct them when he sees you drift back into bad habits. He is very personable and flexible as well. I would highly recommend without reservations.”

Loreto Sulit, Arizona

Private Student

“I started playing classical guitar for fun years ago, but I lived in such remote areas that finding a teacher was nearly impossible. Fortunately, after moving to Tempe, I connected with Jaxon. He is a patient instructor who never makes you feel bad if you have not had enough time to practice. Rather than showing off his impressive playing ability, he focuses his attention entirely on the student. His flexible teaching style helped me translate the musical knowledge I already had to the classical guitar. If you follow his methods, you will be amazed by how quickly you improve. I highly recommend Jaxon to anyone interested in playing classical guitar.”

Eric Hanson, Arizona

Private Student

“Jaxon is awesome! He teaches at my level, is patient and very knowledgeable. His techniques and feedback is always useful and helping me improve. He provides written feedback and lesson plans that keep me on track and moving forward. I highly recommend.”

Jay, New Jersey

Private Student

“Jaxon is great! Always incredibly patient with my flamenco development. He also gives plenty of material for you to work on at home, so you’re never not sure what you have to work on. Overall, if you want to improve quickly and learn the right way, you can’t go wrong with Jaxon.”

Brandon, Los Angeles

Private Student

“Jaxon is an excellent guitarist but also a great educator and communicator. My son’s guitar skills have significantly improved since he began lessons thanks to Jaxon’s instruction. We highly recommend him as a teacher.”
